The Yamaha PSR293 keyboard is a favorite of many keyboard players. This portable keyboard comes with a number of outstanding features that keyboard players all over the world are delighted with. I have been trying to connect my Yamaha psr 295 keyboard to garage band but have been hitting walls. I have a mac book pro with OS X 10.7. I have installed the driver that is provided by yamaha but it indicates its for 10.4 and below. The cable connecting the macbook pro and the keyboard is not the conventional midi cable but a usb cable. There are no conventional midi ports ( in and out ) on yamaha psr 295.
After installing the yamaha driver, there is an icon called Yamaha USB - MIDI under my system settings. But on double clicking it I get the following message
\'You can’t open YAMAHA USB-MIDI Patch preferences because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac.\'
The suitable driver can not be picked up on line.
